ABOUT LAURYN

I was born in 1983 in North Carolina, but have spent most of my life growing up in New Jersey, where I currently reside. I graduated with a B.F.A. from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in 2005. As an emerging artist I have exhibited in galleries in New York City and New Jersey, gaining momentum and name recognition among local art communities.

I dwell "where a painter is a poet." I create art as an extension of myself in an attempt to obliterate anything outside of the creative moment and connect with others through shared recognition in my work. My suburban daytime identity inspires underlying themes in my art that examine the challenges of balancing a creative lifestyle with motherhood, work, and familial responsibilities.
